Back in 2010, the Nissan Leaf was the very first 100% all-electric vehicle to arrive on the scene. The Leaf is a trailblazer in its category and continues to set itself apart in an ever more competitive marketplace today. As the recipient of the 2020 Green Car of the Year award, the Leaf represents a viable green alternative due to its autonomy, its performance and price, both of which have significantly dropped this year!
At Baie-Comeau Nissan, we are pleased to announce the launch of the new model year of the Nissan Leaf. You can now find your new Nissan product at your dealer on the Côte-Nord, near Pointe-Lebel, Chute-aux-Outardes and Godbout or you can configure your 2022 Nissan Leaf.
Electric and Affordable: Yes, It’s All Possible!
While many people want to go green by opting for an electric car, they are often put off by the price tag. However, the Leaf has always been reasonably priced in its class, and now Nissan is making it even more affordable for this latest model year.
Significant drops in price of up to a whopping $6,800 are not limited to the entry-level model, but to all four variants of the car! In addition, the 2022 Nissan Leaf is still eligible for federal and provincial subsidies totalling $13,000. And with the ever-rising price of gasoline, going electric will easily pay for itself in no time, given that the car doesn’t consume a single drop of gasoline.
The entry-level SV variant is equipped with a 40-kWh battery that delivers 147 horsepower and a healthy 236 lb-ft of torque. Better yet, the other three versions include a 62-kWh battery that endows them with a whopping 214 horsepower as well as 250 lb-ft of torque. Who said electric cars were boring?
Driving range certainly isn’t what it was a decade ago, with Nissan continually refining its technology and powertrain to stay at the top of their game. Today, the first engine can reach a range of 240 km, and the second engine has a range of up to 363 km: this means that the 2022 Nissan Leaf can easily serve you on your daily commute and also take you on the longest excursion.
And even if you did require a little boost along the way, you only need 40 to 60 minutes to recharge 80% of the battery using a fast-charging outlet, depending on the car you have.
The interior of the electric car is particularly different from that of its rivals, with heated seats not only in the front, but also in the rear of the car, as a standard feature. The Leaf also has a heated steering wheel, keeping you warm and cozy on the coldest days of the year. What’s more, the Leaf is not only environmentally friendly, it also features comfortable organic fabric seats and optional leather upholstery.
There are no exceptions to supreme state-of-the-art features when it comes to technology: the NissanConnect system, an 8-inch screen with navigation, which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes with the base model. Voice recognition, Bluetooth, and several other conveniences, ease how you interact with the infotainment system.
You could also enjoy the exceptional sound quality of a Bose audio system, and it’s even more enjoyable since the 2022 Nissan Leaf is far quieter than any gas-powered vehicle!
The bottom line is that there’s no excuse not to drive the 2022 Nissan Leaf and imagine a greener future without breaking the bank and without compromising on performance or comfort.
